THE STORY OF MASTERPICE OF SHIP BUILING



The story starts in the year 1225, Mongolian invaded Dai Viet, Vietnam. Three hundred thousand troops sailed to Bai Tu Long Bay and Halong Bay then Bach Dang River Hanoi. At the time Viet Nam was ruled by Tran Dynasty.  Under the leading of General Tran Hung Dao, Vietnamese planted alot of wood sticks in to the bed of Bach Dang river. The river it self was narrow but the water currents was strong which the fleet of mogolian boat was difficult to control and stucked in the wood sticks and sunk. Next to Bach Dang river is Halong Bay, the traces of wood sticks was founded hidden in one of the stalagmite cave, Dau Go.

Later on, craftsman ship from this area had a chance to take up the technologies to build a 40 meters-long wooden boat from sunk vessels originally built in China and fufilled the mission to build a Majestic Imperial Sailling Vessel for Emperor Le Thanh Tong, a masterpiece of ship builging become regal palace on the Bay of Descending Dragon.
